The Social Science Research Review Board (SSRRB) is an organization operating on behalf of the Director General Military Personnel Research and Analysis (DGMPRA) to conduct technical and ethical review of the research protocol of prospective opinion and information gathering social science research* within DND/CF. These include all prospective research which plans to use surveys, questionnaires, interviews, focus or discussion groups or other means.
SSRRB approval may be required for all prospective social science research, thesis or dissertation work that includes participation of Canadian Forces members (Regular Force and Reserve Force personnel) and their families.

* Social science research, as employed here, consists of using methods and techniques normally associated with psychology, sociology and anthropology or any other discipline with the aim of studying psychological or sociological issues.
