Defence Ethics Programme Organization Chart

This organization chart reflects the different levels of authority of the DEP, headed by the Chief of Defence Staff and the Deputy Minister.

The top two boxes of the chart show a side-by-side Deputy Minister (DM) and Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS). The programme is headed by the DM and the CDS.

The next level of boxes shows the side-by-side Chief Review Services (CRS) and the Level 1 Advisors. The CRS is Program Authority for the DEP and is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the DEP. The L1 Advisors, of which there are twenty-one, are responsible for determining how they will administer their ethics plan for the implementation of the DEP within their respective organizations. The dotted line connecting the CRS and the L1 Advisors signifies the collaboration between these two entities.

The third level of boxes shows the Directorate – Defence Ethics Program (DDEP), which reports directly to CRS. The other box on this level shows L1 Ethics Coordinators, which report directly to their respective L1 Advisors. The dotted line connecting the DDEP and the L1 Ethics Coordinators signifies the collaboration between these two entities.

The last large bottom box is entitled the Ethics Advisory Board. It is the body that meets to communicate programme status and issues. It is made up of all L1 Ethics Coordinators from all the L1 groups including:
