Major- General C.A Lamarre

Director of Staff, Strategic Joint Staff

In June 2015, Major-General Lamarre was appointed as Director of Staff, Strategic Joint Staff.

Major-General Lamarre joined the Canadian Forces from Calgary, AB, in June 1981 and was promoted to his present rank in May 2014, and appointed Deputy Commander at the Canadian Joint Operations Command.

During his career, he has commanded  at the Platoon, Company, Battalion and Formation level. He has also served as a G4 at the District, Brigade, and Area level, and is a former G4 of the Canadian Army. His most recent operational tour was as Commander of Joint Task Force Afghanistan. Other operational tours include Croatia and Bosnia, and Afghanistan.

Major-General Lamarre is a graduate of the Royal Military College (RMC) in Kingston, Command and Staff College in Toronto, and the National Defence University (NDU) in Washington. He holds Masters’ Degrees in Defence Studies (RMC) and Science in National Resource Management (NDU).
