MOSID  00021 - Flight Engineer (FLT ENGR)

General Duties:

FLT ENGR shall perform duties related to:

  • mission planning;
  • pre/post flight inspections;
  • monitoring/operating aircraft (A/C) system controls;
  • responding to emergency situations;
  • calculating A/C & engine performance data;
  • compute weight & balance;
  • identify A/C abnormalities;
  • certify A/C for flight;
  • maintain A/C by:
    • completing scheduled & unscheduled inspections;
    • rectification & certification of A/C unserviceability; and
    • replenishing fuel, oil & lubricants;
  • conduct flight simulator training; and
  • perform other duties.

Duties are carried out in tactical field/ship, isolated & urban environments.
