MOSID 00367 - Marine Engineer (MAR ENG)

General Duties:

MAR ENGs support the Sea element and are responsible for the function, repair, maintenance and operation of a variety of mechanical systems onboard ships and submarines such as

  • diesel and gas turbines,
  • high-pressure boilers,
  • main gearing and shafting,
  • steering equipment,
  • refrigeration and air conditioning systems and
  • reverse osmosis equipment.

In addition to the inherent environmental conditions related to ships and submarines at sea, duties are often performed in many hazardous conditions associated with high pressure air, steam, fuels, rotating machinery and seamanship.

MOSID Related Duties
