Tactical Reconnaissance Utility Helicopter

Replace Existing Systems with Newer or Different System


To acquire a replacement capability for the CH146 Griffon.


The Tactical Reconnaissance Utility Helicopter (TRUH) project will provide a replacement for the fleet of CH-146 Griffon helicopters. Transition to the TRUH capability is required to coincide with the end of service life of the Griffon that will be extended to at least 2031. The TRUH capability is required to support the Canadian Army and Canadian Special Operations Force Command units on expeditionary, contingency and domestic operations. The TRUH will have the capacity to operate in non-permissive environment, and provide aerial escort, tactical security, reconnaissance, fire support, combat airlift (light), command and liaison, and special operations.
