Local Biological Defence System Project

Replace Existing Systems with Newer or Different System

Objective

The Local Biological Defence System will provide effective detection, classification and monitoring capabilities for the Canadian Armed Forces against biological warfare agents. The classification will enable the rapid administration of generic medical countermeasures.

Requirements

The project will procure portable, field-deployable biological agent detectors and complementary classification systems. The system will include detection and classification of all biological agents likely to be used against the CAF. It will provide early warning of attack against biological warfare agents.
