Information: New Proposal

For DAG 2016

Replace Existing Systems with Newer or Different System

To procure and install additional digital and hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments to support Electro-Optic threat modelling and simulation.

The EOIR (Electo-Optic Infrared) modelling & simulation capability includes the development of high fidelity threat models and their integration into digital and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation environments. Currently, three hybrid HWIL simulator units and one HWIL simulator exist. However this equipment is not fully dedicated to EO threat M&S. Some equipment needs to be replicated/improved/enhanced to meet the increasing demand of the TERES (Threat Evaluation Research Engineering Support) program. Moreover, new equipment is required to achieve similar level of HWIL M&S capacity for all types of EOIR threats including threats for land and maritime environments.

Preliminary Estimate

  • Under $20 million

Anticipated Timeline

  • 2016 Implementation Approval
  • 2016 Request for Proposal Release
  • 2016 Contract Award
  • 2016 Final Delivery
