Replace Existing Systems with Newer or Different System

This project will replace the head protection currently provided by the Canadian Armed Forces soldier’s combat helmet by introducing a modular design and improved protective materials.

This project will replace the existing combat helmet currently used by Canadian Armed Forces members with state-of-the-art modular and scalable design and materials to improve overall performance. This project will improve on the ballistic, blast and blunt protection characteristics of the in-service helmet. Modularity will allow soldiers to modify their helmets in order to reflect the nature of their task and mission. Its design will maximize comfort while minimizing weight. It may also include enhanced camouflage properties, integrated power distribution and modularity up to complete head encapsulation.
