Naval Reserve Boat - Training

Information: New Proposal

for DAG 2016

Replace Existing Systems with Newer or Different System

Objective

To provide local Naval Reserve Divisions (NRDs) with patrol boats suitable for training Naval reservists in federal fleet small vessel practices.

Requirements

12 x small patrol boat sized vessels roughly 60’ to 80’ in length, suitable for deployment from water-side NRDs. They shall be capable to work alongside Other Governmental Departments such as RCMP, CCG and DFO. These patrol boats will also be used to train naval reservists in federal fleet small vessel practices and participate in naval community outreach programs. These vessels shall have a crew of 6-12 sailors, be capable of operating in all weather/visibility conditions in ice-free inshore and coastal waters, have a mission fit capability for hard mount HMG, be maintainable alongside local harbour-front, and be built to commercial standards compliant with all Transport Canada regulations.
