In-Service Support


This contract will secure engineering, maintenance (second and third-line), materiel, training, and publications management support services in accordance with a newly-developed Performance Management Specification for the F404 Propulsion Group of the CF188 Hornet aircraft. This is a pilot project for the Sustainment Initiative and falls under the Defence Procurement Strategy with a mandate to:

  1. Institutionalize ways to optimize performance and value for money through the implementation of sustainment best practices that leverage the capabilities of Canada and Industry; and
  2. Deliver enterprise-wide F404 Propulsion Group Sustainment outcomes that satisfy Royal Canadian Air Force requirements through performance-based arrangements that will align interests of the RCAF, Industry and Canada.


A performance-based, enterprise-wide sustainment system shall support the existing fleet of CF188 Hornet aircraft operated from two main locations at 4 Wing Cold Lake, AB and 3 Wing Bagotville, QC. The In-Service Support (ISS) contract shall provide support to the General Electric F404-GE-400 engines, Secondary Power Systems (Auxiliary Power Units, Airframe Mounted Accessory Drive, Air Turbine Starters) and all associated accessories and modules.
