T56 Propulsion Group Sustainment Contract in Support of the Legacy Hercules and Aurora Fleets (Pilot Project)

In-Service Support

Objective

This contract will secure engineering, 2nd and 3rd line maintenance, materiel, training and publications support services in accordance with a newly-developed Performance Management Specification for the T56 Propulsion Group of the legacy Hercules and Aurora fleets. This is a pilot project for the Sustainment Initiative and falls under the Defence Procurement Strategy with a mandate to:

  1. Institutionalize ways to optimize performance and value for money through the implementation of sustainment best practices that leverage the capabilities of Canada and Industry; and
  2. Deliver enterprise-wide T56 Propulsion Group Sustainment outcomes that satisfy Royal Canadian Air Force requirements through performance-based arrangements that will align interests of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Industry and Canada.

Requirements

A performance-based, enterprise-wide sustainment system shall support existing fleets of 14 CP 140 Aurora and 13 CC130 aircraft operated from 8 Wing Trenton, ON, 14 Wing Greenwood, NS, 17 Wing Winnipeg, MB and 19 Wing Comox, BC. The In-Service Support Contract shall provide support to the Rolls-Royce T56-A15LFE and T56-A14LFE engines, Lockheed Martin quick engine change assembles, 54H60 Hamilton Sundstrand propellers, Honeywell auxiliary power units (for legacy Hercules only), and all associated accessories and components.
