Information: New Proposal

For DAG 2016

In-Service Support

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) will be establishing a series of standing offers for the procurement of spare parts for the Leopard 2 Family of Vehicles, as well as a number of repair and overhaul contracts for the repair and servicing of key components. These contracts are intended to be an interim measure pending the establishment of a comprehensive long-term sustainment strategy.

The proposed contracts will be structured in such a way as to group requirements by sub-system to reduce contract overhead and encourage competition. Contracts will be broken down by the following systems or vehicle types: Turret - Electro-Optical; Turret - Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Armament; Chassis – Track and Suspension; Chassis – Electrical; Chassis – Mechanical and Hydraulic, Armoured Recovery Vehicle Unique, Armoured Engineering Vehicle Unique. These contracts will be issued for a period of three years, with options to allow sufficient time for the CAF to better understand the long-term sustainment requirements of this fleet of vehicles and complete the necessary analysis in support of the development of a long-term sustainment strategy.
