This project will deliver enablers to develop specific CAF capabilities related to the exploitation of space-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and other strategic sensors, to maintain and improve global maritime domain awareness (MDA) and surveillance of the approaches to North America.In particular, the project will develop the role of the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) as a foundational sensor for MDA for both Canada and our Allies.


Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) - Ottawa Research Centre of the Department of National Defence has a requirement for software development and support of custom testbed systems for SAR and AIS data analysis on an "as and when requested" basis. Note that some of DRDC's testbed systems are used in an operational setting by CAF/DND, by allies and by OGDs. Additionally, there is a potential requirement for field trial support.
