Contribution to the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA)

The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) is a federally incorporated non-profit volunteer association, formed in 1986 to bring together independent aviation volunteer groups from different regions.

CASARA:

  • trains volunteers to assist with Canadian Armed Forces air searches;
  • promotes search and rescue prevention in the aviation community through awareness and education; and
  • maintains the national organization.

The Department of National Defence supports the National Search and Rescue Program’s interest in search and rescue prevention. CASARA uses this funding for outreach to Canada’s general aviation population.
