Gary R. Agnew, CMC, CHRP – Biography

Gary is a senior human resources practitioner and Partner with Cenera, one of Calgary's leading human resource advisory firms with specific expertise in five key areas: Executive Search, Career Transition, Human Resource Management, Privacy & Records Management, and Business Alignment. He brings to the table more than 25 years experience in the field of leadership development, coaching and mentoring, career management and executive search.

Gary is an advocate of contributing to the community. He has served as President, Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA), President, Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA), and Vice President of the Human Resources Association of Calgary (HRAC). He also served as Canada's founding delegate to the North American Human Resources Management Association (NAHRMA).

Gary's active role in the community includes more than 10 years as a member of the Human Resources Program Advisory Committees for both Mount Royal College and the University of Calgary.

Gary has authored and co-authored such publications as How to Job-Hunt Effectively; Hiring and Dismissal in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba; So Tell Me About Yourself: a Guide to Successful Interviews; as well as a layman's guide to human rights in Alberta.

In addition to being the Alberta Chair of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council, he is the President of CERIC – the Canadian Education and Research Institute for Counselling, a Board member of Career Partners International as well as a Senator of the Calgary Zoological Society.
