If you live near land or a body of water that was once used for military purposes and that may contain UXO, there are some general safety precautions you should take. It is important to obey any UXO warning signs and stay on marked trails in other areas. It is wise not to touch or disturb any old metal and stay away from the area at night when it is difficult to see potential hazards.
