As part of a Total Force framework and as an integral part of the Canadian Forces Health Services, the Reserve component will support the Mission, Vision and Values of the Canadian Forces Health Services by transforming into a capability-based, professional, viable and sustainable H Svcs Reserve. The capability-based CF H Svcs Res Force will provide trained personnel to support, augment and sustain CF H Svcs organizations for CF operations and training activities, while building and maintaining the necessary links between the CF and civilian Health Services/medical institutions.
Through the monitoring of trends and effectiveness of the CF H Svc's Res transformation, consolidation of lessons learned, development of strategic guidance and championing of CF H Svcs Res specific issues, the H Svcs Res will bridge the existing gap in CF H Svcs force development and capability.
The Director of the H Svcs Res will provide the necessary guidance for the development of a capability - based, professional, viable and sustainable H Svcs Res.
To provide the CF H Svcs with the necessary knowledge and guidance to transform and maintain a CF H Svcs Res with the right capabilities to successfully train personnel to support, augment and sustain CF H Svcs organizations.
Specific H Svcs Res tasks are to:
The management, planning and oversight of the CF H Svcs Res, including different transition initiatives have been transferred to different directorates of the CF H Svcs Gp based on the Total Force concept and common functionality. A small Res strategic planning staff has been established under a Directorate of H Svcs Reserves. the Director of H Svcs Res, will provide functional leadership, planning and support to the Reserve elements as well as advice and support to the Group HQ staff.
