Hours of Operation:
Regular clinic hours are from 0730-1530hrs Monday to Friday
Sick Parade:
Emergency dental care is provided at 0730hrs Monday to Friday. IMPORTANT:
Emergency service is provided on a first come, first serve basis (patients
requiring urgent care will be given priority). To ensure that you are seen
in a timely manner please report as early as possible since regularly
appointed patients are seen beginning at 0900hrs.
After Hours Emergency Procedure:
- All CFDS Dental Detachments provide 24 hour/7 days a week service. When in
the Gagetown area and outside of regular working hours dental service can be
obtained by contacting the following:
- Base Duty Warrant Officer # (506)- 422-2000 ext.1491/CSN 432-1491
- Treatment provided by a civilian practitioner outside the above guidelines
is subject to the conditions outlined in CFAO
35-3.
Enrolment Procedure:
- Dental enrollment exams are mandatory exams for anyone enrolling into the
CF and for people who are component transferring to the Regular Force from
the Reserve Force. Appointments for enrollment exams can be made by calling
dental reception at loc. 2185.
- This requirement is outlined in CFAO
35-2 and is in accordance with QR&O
35.03
Release Procedure:
- Dental release exams are mandatory exams for any member who is getting out
of the CF for any reason. Release exams will be done during sick parade
hours or by scheduling an appointment. Members are encouraged to have an
exam six months before their release date. This is to ensure all required
dental treatment can be completed before the member's effective date of
release.
- IMPORTANT: There is no required condition of dental
fitness upon release. Unfinished work will not be completed beyond a
member's effective date of release.
- An actual forensic release charting will be done within the member's last
30 days of active service.

35-2 and are in accordance with QR&O
35.03
Screening Procedure:
- Dental fitness screenings for military members will be provided when
required between 0730 - 0845 hrs Monday to Friday or by appointment.
- This requirement is outlined in CFAO
35-2 and is in accordance with QR&O

- Screening exams for dependants and other civilians are not provided by the
CFDS detachment. Such screenings must be performed in accordance with CFAO
35-5
Annual (Phase-1) Exam Procedure:
- Annual exams are provided at 12, 18 or 24-month intervals depending on the
member's previous annual exam assessment.
- All CF members are reminded that it is ultimately the member's
responsibility to ensure they obtain an annual exam.
- Commanders and superiors are reminded they have a responsibility to ensure
their personnel are deployable and dentally fit.
- All regular force members, reserve class "C", and reserve class
"B">180 days must receive an annual exam as required in CFAO
35-2 and in accordance with QR&O
