The First Recipient of the Major Sir Frederick Banting MC, RCAMC Award for Military Health Research

The Major Sir Frederick Banting MC, RCAMC Award for Military Health Research was awarded to Dr Jitinder Sareen, at the most recent Military Veteran's Health Research Forum in Kingston Ontario. Dr Sareen is the Director of Research and Anxiety Services in the Department of Psychiatry at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Man. He was presented with the award by the Surgeon General, Commodore Hans Jung and members of the Banting family for his paper titled, "Adverse Childhood Experiences in Relation to Mood and Anxiety Disorders in a Population-Based Sample of Active Military Personnel."

The Major Sir Frederick Banting MC, RCAMC Award for Military Health Research is sponsored by the True Patriot Love Foundation and is adjudicated by the Surgeon General of the Canadian Forces. Its purpose is to recognize and encourage high quality research that addresses military health issues.
