Canadian Operational Support Command Legal Advisor :::  

The Canadian Operational Support Command Legal Advisor is responsible for the provision of timely and effective legal advice to the Commander and Staff of the Canadian Operational Support Command (CANOSCOM).

CANOSCOM is responsible for supporting all Canadian Forces (CF) operations by providing or coordinating the provision of the full range of command support, communications and information systems, and services such as health care, military engineering, logistics, sea, land and air transport, land equipment maintenance, personnel support and military police.

CANOSCOM is responsible for planning and executing the delivery of national-level operational support for theatre activation, sustainment and termination of CF operations.

The CANOSCOM Legal Advisor supports CANOSCOM by advising on all aspects of military law, which impacts the support of the CF in both domestic and international operations.

Specifically, the CANOSCOM Legal Advisor is involved in the preparation of Logistic, Support, Supply and Services arrangements with host nations and allies, and with legal counsel from other Government Departments, the negotiation of commercial support contracts with suppliers of goods and services required by the CF, and advises on military justice and military administrative law matters affecting members of the command.
