Instructions in the event of a strike at Canada Post

Guidelines for mailing via Canada Post

  • This link provides the guidelines for CF family members and friends sending letters or packages to deployed CF Members.
  • CHRISTMAS MAILING GUIDELINES: Mail intended for Christmas delivery to Canadian Forces personnel serving overseas and using the Belleville address must arrive at Belleville by 18 November 2011.

Operational Addresses

OP ATHENA (Kandahar, Afghanistan) - CLOSING

  • Mission terminating. Mail must arrive at Belleville, Ontario by 31 October 2011. Mail received after this date will be returned to sender. There may be an additional charge on mail that is returned to sender.

OP MOBILE (Trapani, Sigonella, Naples and Poggio Renatico, Italy) - CLOSING

  • Mail for personnel on OP MOBILE located at these locations will no longer be sent. Mail on hand will be returned to sender. There may be an additional charge on mail that is returned to sender.

OP JAGUAR (Jamaica) - CLOSED

  • Mail for personnel on OP JAGUAR is longer being sent to that destination as the mission is closed. Mail on hand will be returned to sender. There may be an additional charge on mail that is returned to sender.

Free Mailing Options

  • Canada Post Lettermail - Canada Post will accept regular parcels free of charge to designated Canadian Forces Bases overseas from October 17, 2011 until January 13, 2012. Lettermail weighing up to 500 grams to deployed troops can be sent free of charge until December 31, 2012. Note that this program is not extended to mail addressed to “Any Canadian Forces Member” and all such items will require postage. More…

Donations

  • The Canadian Forces Personnel and Family Support Services (CFPSA) is responsible to coordinate donations to Canadian Forces deployed troops. All donations must be coordinated through the CFPSA. Please click here to be redirected to the CFPSA donations guidance.
  • Donations to the troops or to assist the local population of the countries that the Canadian Forces are deployed will not be accepted in the Canadian Forces Mail stream and will be returned to sender at the sender's expense.
