As athletes, we know that what we do for our country can never measure up to your contributions the sacrifice and dedication that our armed forces show on a daily basis.
Operation HESTIA is the Canadian Forces participation in humanitarian operations conducted in response to the catastrophic earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on 12 January 2010.
Dear women and men serving me and my country overseas, thank you very much for doing what most of us couldn't do. It is because of you that we call Canada, home, the safest and best country to live in. My heart, all of our hearts, go out to you. A salute will never be enough to convey what you mean to all of us. Thank you.
